Johnson & Johnson admits: Our baby products contain cancer-causing formaldehyde

The Savvy Sister

No more tears?  I would rather have no more formaldehyde.  I just might get my wish.

Don’t cry! They finally are concerned about your safety!

Today, the personal care giant announced that it would voluntarily (after consistent pressure from the public and groups like EWG) remove hidden formaldehyde from their baby products like baby shampoo and baby washes.  Don’t see formaldehyde listed on the back of your bottle of “no more tears” shampoo?  Formaldehyde is “hidden” in these products in ingredient names like “DMDM hydantoin“, and “1,4 dioxane” (which is “hidden” in listed ingredients like “fragrance”.  It’s all a big fun game, you see.).

Lively discussion?  If someone was selling you shampoo for your baby that had…

Claremont Cozy Mystery Book Club

I started a book club for lovers of Cozy Mystries on Meetup thinking really hoping to get a few maybe 5 or 6 members. I wanted to have people to share my love of the genre with, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would get 18 members! !! Wow! We are all to meet at local restaurant to decide on the very first book that we will read. I’m excited as well as nervous, 18 people wow!

2015 Reading Challenge

This year I’m challenging myself to read 45 books by the end of December 2015, I don’t think I’ll have a problem meeting my goal! I hope to do a better job cataloging my readings through my blog.

I’m incorporating more genres this year but I can’t help but start the year off with another cozy!

Tea Shop Mystery #7 Blood Orange Brewing by Laura Childs. I’m half way done!

2014 Cozy Mystery Reading Challenge

The challenge is for all Cozy Readers to see how many cozy mysteries YOU can read this year!! Please post your challenge (EX: I will read 30 cozy mysteries in 2014). Then, each time you finish reading a cozy, drop by here, and post (EX: #10, Jenn McKinlay, Sprinkle With Murder). ummm….she’s here….

Today is the day, the day Sam has been dreading for the last three week! The day the home school teacher is coming. I on the other hand am ready, well maybe sort of ready…She’s going to come and whip this kid back into school mode at least for one hour a day. She will be here at 1:15, ok…I will do some laundry, play with Teddy, fold some laundry, put Teddy to sleep and then shower. 1:15 I will be ready for her. 12:13 Sam appears at my bedroom door with just a T-shirt, underwear and a cast on, ” she’s here” he say’s, “who is here” I ask shhushing him, Teddy just fell asleep damnit, I need to shower, who the heck is here!? He scurries off hobbling on one leg to hid under his blanket, nice! I rush to the door in my robe ready to shoo away whoever is taking up valuable to time away from my shower! There stands a well poised somewhat confused woman, Oh God it’s the teacher, how do I know this…because I get the feeling that I’m being considered for detention! “Hi I’m Mrs. so and so”she says, and I say while tying my robe a little tighter that I had’t expected her till 1:15. Oh Lord, there is laundry on the table and the couch and….I scurry to find a pair of shorts for Sam, drag him out from under the covers, clear the table and apologize profusely for my mess. Nuns and teachers they both make me feel like I’m in trouble!

If you are anything like me you love everything girly and nothing is girlier than pretty baubles! About a year ago I discovered BaubleBar (www.baublebar.com). They are online retailers of very pretty, very trendy jewlery. The pieces are well made and very well priced and on top of that each week they send you on an treasure hunt to a find a buried bauble that is only $10 dollars! Really, you get a piece of jewelry for $10 dollars! The products are always in style and match every personality and fashion taste.

Nothing better than finding a for women by women business that offers quality m,erchndise for less!

Here are some of my past purchases!
